Well hello there paper peeps! Do you have your own scrapbook room to play in? Your own little happy place? Currently my little bedroom is also my scraproom, so it’s pretty tight & cozy lol! But luckily I’m single so I don’t have someone to yell at me about my..er… beautiful mess 😉 I want my little creative space to be a happy partayy like atmosphere so when I walk in I’m like woo hooo!! Time to make stuff!! Does it really happen that way? Ummm… ANYhooooo, a fun and easy way to add a festive feel to your creative space is to hang up garlands! I like to mix & match all different kinds, it makes the space so fun & eclectic! Here is one I just made using cupcake wrappers and doilies!
I love these Heidi Swapp marquee letters from when they were at Target! They were just begging for a garland to be hung underneath them…
Would you like to make one?!! Ok! Grab these supplies;
- cupcake wrappers of all sizes, shapes, & colors!
- needle and bakers twine!
- doilies of all shapes & sizes!
Now here is what you’re going to do!
Cut a long piece of twine to the size banner you want, and thread it with a needle like you’re going to sew something. Then, take the different sized cupcake wrappers and start opening them up, crinkling, flattening, just make them all different!
Start stringing them on and sliding them on down to the other end until you reach your desired length! Turn them every which way, facing each other, facing the opposite direction, big ones, little ones, every so often stick a doily on there..
You should end up with something eclectic like this!
These printed wrappers are from Dear Lizzy, but the solid ones you can find anywhere like grocery stores, dollar stores, all over the place! I had so much fun making this garland and it only took like a half hour, no joke! It would be so much fun to make with your little darlings for a craft project!
So grab your goodies and get busy! Hang it up in your happy place and you’ll smile every time you walk in 😉
Have a beautiful creative day!
P.S. there’s only a few Cake For Breakfast Kits left up in the shop!! Grab yours before they’re gone!
